As long as the tweeting does not compromise the care delivered to the patient, I see it as a great ME tool, especially for a generation of tech-savvy medical students. Physicians and hospitals are smart to find new ways to reach this group of MDs who obtain and disseminate information in a completely different way than their older colleagues.
I agree with Jackie but also think there will have to be strict guidelines around specific types of Twitter use. As the platform also supports video and photo sharing applications, everyone in the OR should adhere to regulations put in place to protect the patient's privacy.
