PWC has released a study that predicts that there will be significant growth in the use of social media in healthcare. Really interesting article on how a man had his prosthetic arm built with a dock for his smartphone. I think this takes the statement about technology being attached to someone's hip to a new level! Will be interesting to see if anyone takes this to the next level-- docking stations for iPads, anyone?

Clarimed debuted today and with that, claimed to be the first independent rating site for healthcare. It's CEO says that it is looking to bridge the gap between scientific, peer-reviewed journals and online rating sites (most letting people post anonymously).
The site has a dual focus-- laymen (as they call it) and professionals. What are your thoughts-- would you use it?

Healthcare Communications News has posted an interesting article on 4 steps to reduce a social media crisis in a hospital. One thing I think should be added-- or changed-- across most social media policies is more clarifications around new tools. A social media policy is outdated almost just as quickly as its created. Is there anything on this list that you would change?
