Health Care Trends With a Social Media Twist

Social Media Catching on With Health Underwriters in MA

By Palmer Reuther

Tomorrow, the MA Association of Health Underwriters (MassAHU) is holding its 9th Annual Statewide Conf. and Trade Show at the DoubleTree Hotel in Westborough, MA. The event, "Benefest 2011", looks to be a great event with sponsors including Harvard Pilgrim, Fallon Community Health Plan, Pfizer, BCBS and Tufts.

One of the themes expected to emerge from the day's activities is how underwriters can use social media for the benefit of their business and to increase their level of communication and interaction with their constituents. Social media has opened up new comunciations channels for many organizations across a number of vertical markets. For health underwrites social media holds that same potential, but it's important that these organizations have a social media strategy in place and the resources to support a SM program with a strong cadence of activity and compelling content.

If you're attending, I hope you'll join my session on social media. Looking forward to meeting and working with the great folks at MassAHU.
